Abstract:

The landscape of e-commerce is evolving rapidly, driven by technological advancements and changing consumer preferences. Gig marketing, a flexible and on-demand approach to marketing tasks, is emerging as a key driver of this evolution, particularly in burgeoning markets like India. This research delves into the relationship between the gig economy and e-commerce in the Indian context. With an estimated 90 million gig workers by 2023, India emerges as a key player in the global gig landscape. Sectoral diversity, government initiatives, and economic contributions to GDP underscore the transformative impact of the gig economy. In the realm of e-commerce, gig marketing proves instrumental in enhancing visibility and driving sales. This research article explores the various ways in which gig marketing is contributing to the growth and success of e-commerce in India, highlighting its advantages, challenges, and future potential.
