Abstract:

Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) have revolutionized software development by enabling rapid, automated code integration and release cycles. This study examines the impact of CI/CD practices on software quality, focusing on key metrics such as defect rates, deployment frequency, and system stability. By analyzing case studies, industry reports, and empirical data, we explore how CI/CD enhances code reliability, accelerates time-to-market, and reduces integration issues. The findings indicate that while CI/CD improves software maintainability and early defect detection, challenges such as infrastructure costs, complex tooling, and the need for a robust testing strategy can affect its effectiveness. This research provides valuable insights for software developers and organizations looking to optimize their CI/CD pipelines for improved software quality.
