Abstract:

Cement production releases major CO2quantity. To reduce the cement quantity in construction, alternate cementitious materials are in focus in research project. Alkali activated materials act as an alternative binding system for concrete.In this present study, various proportions of Fly ash, GGBS and Silica Fume are used and Mechanical tests are conducted to know the influence of Silica Fume on GGBS based alkali activated concrete. Activators used are Sodium Silicate (Na2SiO3) and Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH).
