Abstract:

Our JBIET students have a lot of trouble monitoring our college buses with the present app, thus the suggested solution is an android-based software that will show the user the college bus's current position and how long it will take to reach them. The basic android application will interface with the updated database to offer real-time data to the user, improving the user experience. The system will employ GPS as its foundation. Android apps can track buses in real time. This technology collects GPS data and sends it to a server where an android application may get it and display the bus's position on Google Maps. Application users may get needed information. Problems include college bus delays, lack of information on bus routes and stops, and time. College students/staff will miss their transportation by a second. This causes several issues, including tardiness to class and tests. We created a real- time college bus tracking and alerting app to solve this. It tracks JBIET college buses. Smartphone apps power the planned system. The Smartphone application utilises Google Maps API to show bus whereabouts using GPS devices. It locates the bus on the map and updates the user at various intervals. This also sends notifications every 5–10 minutes before the bus arrives, so the user knows when it will arrive. Next, the android app displays emergency alerts from the bus. There is a section for student/faculty complaints about college bus services. The user-friendly, low- maintenance device guarantees safety and monitoring.
