Abstract:

The paper here presents the systematic and detailed study of the work performed by our team on the process and working principal of the furnace designed to burn the waste is constructed with special mechanism which is aimed to generate 230v ac through ThermoElectric generators (TEG) attached to the hot body of Furnace. The function of TEG module is to convert the heat energy in to electric energy. The mechanism constructed to generate electricity is aimed to maintain the flow of heat through the hot body to cold body of TEG modules. The hot body of the device is directly attached to the hot chamber and whereas the cold body is attached to the heat sink which is aimed to radiate the heat in to the space to maintain temperature difference between hot body and cold body. Here with the help of specially designed aluminium vessel that contains water will be attached to the cold body of TEG module by which cold body temperature is lowered and maintains the thermal difference between two bodies. A small furnace is a combustion device used for burning solid waste which is constructed with MS sheets and one side of the furnace is constructed with aluminium sheet, the idea of using aluminium is to absorb the heat. The TEG module used here can generate nearly 2V when it is heated at 1000 C, since this voltage is not sufficient to drive the inverter, 6 No’s of such similar TEG modules are used and are connected in series to generate 13V DC which is sufficient to charge the 12V battery. Here the Rechargeable battery used to drive the inverter is rated for 4AH, so the burning furnace generates electric energy which is used to charge the battery and with the help of an inverter designed with PWM IC and power mosfets, 230V ac is generated which can be used directly to run the electrical appliances like lamp load.
