Abstract:

The project deals with study of water hyacinth and converting it in to manure by using Cow dung, Microorganisms and Earthworms, and also by adding Rice Husk and Saw dust. Now the main problem is the growth of huge quantity of water hyacinth in ponds, lakes and stagnant river water all over the country. Growth of water hyacinth will affect the quality of water, reduction in Oxygen content of water and also affect the flora and fauna etc. Now in our project samples were collected and tested in the lab to find various parameters like pH, Temperature, Organic Carbon, Nitrogen, Phosphorous, Potassium, etc. Further, we analysed our project in aerobic (combination of water hyacinth along with cow dung). Based on the results, the water hyacinth can be effectively used as manure in Eco friendly.
