Abstract:

In the era of globalization when knowledge and technology are considered the basis for excellence and superiority, several countries are still facing the paradox of advancement in education technology. The current education system with its rigidity is becoming a hindrance to creativity and hence to the culture of innovation. It is important to incorporate technology into education so that our teaching methodologies can be improved. One such method is to introduce the use of Holograms in education. According to proven research, a human can easily interpret visual data when compared to reading books. Sometimes our mind tries to help us create a picture, but it might not be anything close to what we were asked to visualize. This is where a three-dimensional hologram (3DH) could beof great help. This paper gives insights on how a hologram could be used in education. A hologram as a 3- diemensional representation tool, could be useful for an elementary school student to visualize the shapes and dimensions of objects, a high school student to understandthe structure of molecules, a medical undergraduate to study the anatomy of human body and several more use cases. Thus, introducing technology such as holography brings up a highrate of interest among students by helping them understand the topic of their interest and it also helps teachers improve their teaching methodologies so that every student understands the essence of the subject. Analyzing several papers, the use of a hologram as a visualization tool is summarized under different sections in this paper.
