Abstract:

We observe that in many tourist places, institutions, malls, museums, etc guides are working mechanically and in a loop such as receiving guests and helping them in exploring their purpose. This paper is to design a guest greeting and guiding robot using raspberry pi. Our goal is to develop a robot for institutional purpose. For the purpose of designing and executing simple interactions between human and robot this proposed model can be preferred. In this project, Images are captured by pi camera are used to recognize the person using image processing. If the captured image matches the stored image the robot greets the person and if the image is mismatched robot considers person as unknown person and it will asks for any help which can be selected by the options on the screen of the robot. This robot consists of push buttons to select the destination like class room1, class room2 and lab1, staffroom. This robot consist of voice module to gives the voice output. This robot consists of ultrasonic sensor to detect the obstacles in its path. It guides the person to their selected classroom or lab.
