Abstract:

Deducing passengers route choice for train based on smart card data, this will improve their passengers service. Passenger service is an important factor in evaluating an operator’s performance. Passenger service defined in terms of travel time and vehicle crowdedness depends on passenger route choice. Mobile devices have larger impact in our daily life. There are various problems related to public transport like confusion and misunderstanding between the passengers regarding fares, facing the severe problem of traffic jam, having severe security problems in public transport due anti social elements. This proposed project aims to develop a user friendly, interactive automated ticketing system which will deduct the passenger’s fare according to the distance travelled as well as detect the passenger’s identification. The proposed project is concerned with ticketing and identification of the passenger in the public transport service. Most passenger route choice models are based on utility maximization or regret minimization. In case of sudden changes in the planning or disruptions in a public transport network, traditional route choice models may not be valid. A method for deducing the chosen route of passengers based on smart card and validates this method on a real-life data set. The main aims at finding the optimal route between the train station by shortest route. This proposes a method for deducing the chosen route of passengers along with alerting system, serve as security purpose by using an Android application. Moreover, it is shown how this method can be used to analyze and evaluate passenger service on Android application.
