Abstract:

A Multi-Interface ZigBee Building Area Networks (MIZBAN) designed for high-traffic Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) for high-rise buildings. This helps counter management functions such as demand response for smart grid applications. To make up for the high-traffic communication in these buildings Area Networks (BAN), a multi-interface management framework has been defined and developed cooperation between several interfaces based on a newly defined tree-based mesh-(T -Mesh) ZigBee topology justice, which supports both mesh and tree routing in a network. MIZBAN is proposed and implemented to cater for the development of high traffic AMI for smart grid application. It is important to highlight that the major challenge of MIZBAN is to handle the high density environment which results in heavy traffic loading and weak signal propagation.
